FYI – I was informed this morning that we have recently received some questions regarding the temporary discontinuation of the BASS position at the high school. We want to clarify so that our community is aware of the situation, and the facts. Our 23-24 BASS employee at the HS resigned at the end of the school year and relocated for personal reasons. And, our school district remains committed to providing our students (and families) with the resources and interventions needed to support student success.
However, we have recently hired a new principal and assistant principal and we believe it is in the best interest of our students to allow our new leadership team to assess our current programming. As many are aware, we have dedicated last school year, and again this school year, to the integration and implementation of our new district Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports, K-12. We feel strongly that this new program will meet and support the needs of all students.
We appreciate the community concerns for our students and expect nothing less, and we share those concerns. We encourage parents, families, and community members to stay involved and invite all of you to our public events and board meetings throughout the year. The more you can attend our meetings, the more you can learn about the decisions being made, and why. Thank you for your continued support and Go Chiefs!
