️ CTE Millage Reminder – November 4th
As we discussed last week, every student deserves a path that fits their individual goals—and for many, that path is Career and Technical Education (CTE). CTE programs are making a strong comeback, offering students practical, hands-on skills that lead directly to in-demand careers. In many cases, CTE is one of the fastest and most effective routes into the workforce.
Here in Cheboygan, we’re proud to offer nine CTE programs—the most in the Northeastern Region of Michigan. For comparison, Gaylord—a larger and more populated district—offers six. We're also actively working to expand our offerings even further.
Our high school CTE programs are enhanced through our partnership with the Early Middle College (EMC) program, now entering its second year at Cheboygan High School. This fall, we welcomed over 20 returning seniors and more than 20 new juniors into the EMC program. If you’re a junior still considering joining, the deadline to enroll in the junior cohort is October 1st. After that date, no additional juniors can be added.
The EMC program aligns a student’s education with their career goals—whether that includes a four-year degree, an associate degree, or a specialized certification. EMC helps students take the most efficient and meaningful path from high school to a successful future.
Reminder: A regional CTE millage will appear on the ballot on November 4th. If passed, it will generate over $4 million annually to support and sustain CTE programs across all 10 school districts in our region. Thank you for supporting the future of our students and the strength of our local workforce.

Quote of the Week – “Beauty in the Little Things”
And one day, you realize... it was never about the big things.
It’s actually about the little moments that feel like magic.
• The simplest of seconds that make you smile
• The genuine experiences that fill your heart with joy
• The conversations that make you believe in kindness
• The hugs you want to hold just a bit longer
• The people who make you feel like sunshine
• The moments of peace and stillness that remind you how beautiful the world can be
It was never about the big things.
