The HS gym floor is going to be sanded down, bad boards replaced, and then painted, starting June 9th. The project will take approximately 3 weeks and during that time the gym will not be accessible.

Superintendent's across the region have come together to advocate for relief. We are currently urging the state to pass House Bill 4345, which would grant up to 10 additional emergency days for affected schools. We’ve been actively sharing updates from Rep. Cam Cavitt on social media, including on our district website, to keep our community informed. I’ve attached screenshots of those posts for your reference.
We remain hopeful the bill will pass. If not, we’ll need to add the missed days to the end of the school year, pushing us into the third week of June—a concern for both families and staff. I was interviewed by the St. Ignace News and 9&10 News regarding the situation yesterday and hopefully, together, we can get the word out and the support we need to get these days excused.
If your child participates in the backpack food program please check the date on the applesauce and discard if outdated.

We will hold our final Title VI meeting of the school year on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM in the Cheboygan Intermediate School Library. Title VI is a federal grant that provides support for Native American students in our district. Please join us if you would like to learn more.

Thank you first responders and lineman for clearing the roads and continuing to work diligently on restoring power! We still have a lot of work in front of us but our kids are back in school and the past two days have been great! It was wonderful to see the kids in the halls, in the classrooms, and smiling! Thank you to everyone that made it possible!
FYI - There will be a Food Distribution center set up tomorrow @ the River of Life Church. Any questions, please contact the Salvation Army @ 231-627-9003. The distribution will begin at 1pm and will end at 2:30pm, or when the food runs out. The distribution line will begin @ the intersection of S. Huron and Seymour Street. The Salvation Army is also looking for additional volunteers, if you are interested in helping out?

The new HS backboards and arms have been installed! They can be adjusted automatically, lowered, for younger age groups!
The School Office's and District Office's will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, from 9am until 2pm. Please feel free to call or stop in for questions or concerns as we prepare for Thursday.
At the county Emergency Services Team meeting this morning, it was confirmed that Cheboygan county schools can resume this Thursday, April 10th, (which includes CAS, Wolverine, and Inland Lakes).
FYI - The Friday Backpack food program will return once school resumes. If you are not on the list, and would like to be considered, please contact your Principal directly.
Also, FYI, CAS was directed to not use our schools as a warming station by the EOC due to the lack of a backup generator and the number of other warming stations available in our area.
And, EOC has scheduled another meeting for tomorrow morning, future updates to follow!
