The Cheboygan Marching Band just attended Northern Michigan University's 'Band Day,' where the performed with a total of 850 students during the halftime show of the NMU football game. Many memories were made and the band did an amazing job representing our Cheboygan community! Congratulations to our marching band and Mr. Romero for this opportunity. #GoChiefs!!

7th grade English students in Mrs. Lakes class having their first novel study discussions from Kevin Sylvester’s book, MINRS. She loved listening to their amazing discourse, making wonderful connections, and asking in-depth questions. #GoChiefs!!

Tonight our 7/8th grade choir had their Fall performance at Cheboygan Opera House. They did a great job and were extremely prepared for their music pieces. Congratulations to Ms. Abby and the 7/8th grade choir students! #GoChiefs!!

Today the CHS students and staff had the pleasure of hosting motivational speaker Nathan Harmon. He has a powerful message of overcoming adversity, mental illness, working through difficult relationships, and addictions. His story of resilience was inspirational and uplifting. Encouraging positive decisions and friendships while encouraging others was a key component of ent to his message. Thank you to our P2P group for organizing this event. #GoChiefs!!

Boys 7th and 8th grade basketball will start tryouts on Monday October 26th. All students attending will need a physical on file in order to participate. 8th grade tryouts will be from 3-4:30 Monday through Friday in the Intermediate gym. 7th grade will be from 4:30-6 Monday through Friday in the intermediate gym.

Today the welding students had an opportunity to take a field trip to visit Moran Iron Works and the Industrial Arts Institute in Onaway, MI. Here are some pictures from the tours.

Biology students studied osmosis this week using eggs as a model of a cell. After removing the shells with vinegar, the eggs shrank and swelled as they lost and gained water in different solutions. It was eggcellent fun! #GoChiefs!!

Fall sports are coming to a close, and winter ones are about to begin. 7th and 8th grade basketball tryouts start on Monday the 26th. This is a reminder that all kids need to have a physical on file before they can tryout. If you have not had a physical for this school year, then you will need a new one. NO PHYSICAL = NO PARTICIPATION.
