Cheboygan Area Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Kaitlyn Bricker as a new elementary teacher for the upcoming school year. Ms. Bricker earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Central Michigan University, graduating Cum Laude while earning recognition on both the President’s List and Dean’s List. She holds a Michigan teaching certification for grades PK–6 with a PK–3 endorsement and brings two years of second-grade teaching experience from Old Mission Peninsula School in Traverse City. Throughout the interview process, Ms. Bricker demonstrated a strong passion for education, student-centered instruction, and a commitment to helping all students succeed academically and socially. “We are excited to welcome Kaitlyn to Cheboygan Area Schools and believe she will make a positive impact on our students, staff, and school community,” said Superintendent Spencer Byrd.

Today, Mrs. Hayden's 7th grade science students made Ooblek to investigate how properties of materials make them useful to humans. This was a fun-filled and hands on activity.

🪵🔨 Woodshop Push Stick Challenge! 🔨🪵
The woodshop was running low on push sticks for our table saws, so instead of simply making more, students turned it into a competition! Each class hour competed against one another to design and build the best push stick while still creating a safe, fully functional tool.
Students were given a few guidelines but were otherwise free to use any tool in the shop to bring their ideas to life. Creativity, craftsmanship, and functionality were all on display!
Voting for each class winner was done by the following class period, and the winning student from each hour earned a cookie from the Drift INN, our High School Culinary Program. 🍪
The final winners were then judged by members of our faculty and staff. It was great to see students combine safety, problem-solving, creativity, and friendly competition into a real-world shop project. Great work by everyone involved! 👏🪚
Winning students for each our:
1st Hour Kaiden Harley
2nd Hour Zach Tranquillla
4th Hour Colton Gheldof
6th Hour Wyatt Wiltfong

Last night, our football program met to share information on the upcoming season. Parents received information on the calendar, volunteer opportunities, communications, and program expectations. Thank you to the parents and players who were able to attend.
