Executive Summary – SitelogIQ Construction Update
Reporting Period Ending June 5, 2026

Ongoing and Completed Work:

Excavation has begun for the addition footprint.
Gravel base and 18-foot sheet piling shoring have been installed.
Existing boiler units have been removed and replaced with two new boilers.
Temperature control wiring installation is underway throughout the building.
Demolition of existing copper piping within the tunnel system has been completed.
Installation of the two new boiler units is currently in progress.

Overall, construction activities continue to advance according to schedule, with significant progress made on both site preparation and mechanical system upgrades.

The past few days have been spent organizing and cleaning the welding shop, bringing this school year to a close and preparing the shop for next year. #GoChiefs!!

Miss Allen’s 6th hour class had fun on their trip to Mackinac Island! They enjoyed a carriage tour, ice cream, and learning about historical sites! #GoChiefs!!

Spanish Club took advantage of the warm weather last week during one of their final meetings of the year. Ms. Dawley's Spanish Club is a great opportunity for students to meet and provide additional opportunities through Spanish culture. If you are interested in the club for next year, see Ms. Dawley.

Cheboygan Area Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Kaitlyn Bricker as a new elementary teacher for the upcoming school year. Ms. Bricker earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Central Michigan University, graduating Cum Laude while earning recognition on both the President’s List and Dean’s List. She holds a Michigan teaching certification for grades PK–6 with a PK–3 endorsement and brings two years of second-grade teaching experience from Old Mission Peninsula School in Traverse City. Throughout the interview process, Ms. Bricker demonstrated a strong passion for education, student-centered instruction, and a commitment to helping all students succeed academically and socially. “We are excited to welcome Kaitlyn to Cheboygan Area Schools and believe she will make a positive impact on our students, staff, and school community,” said Superintendent Spencer Byrd.

Today, Mrs. Hayden's 7th grade science students made Ooblek to investigate how properties of materials make them useful to humans. This was a fun-filled and hands on activity. #GoChiefs!!

The last day of school for Cheboygan Area Schools, including Inverness Virtual students is Friday June 5.

We had an amazing Cheboygan High School awards ceremony this morning in the high school gymnasium. The Academic Boosters Club along with the high school staff recognized many outstanding students for their hard work and dedication.
