Reminder: Today is Election Day!

There is only one item on the ballot today — the regional CTE millage. I just stopped by the Inverness polling station, and about 90 ballots had already been cast. Most, if not all, polling stations are open until 8:00 PM tonight. It literally took me less than five minutes to complete the voting process this afternoon/evening.

The COPESD is asking voters to consider this regional CTE millage. If approved, it would generate over $4.8 million annually to support Career and Technical Education programs across all ten districts in our region. This is a meaningful investment in both our students’ futures and the strength of our local workforce.

The annual property tax impact of a voter-approved CTE millage would be one mill, which is equal to $1 per $1,000 of taxable value. This means for every $100,000 in taxable home value, the cost is $100 annually, or approximately $8.33 per month.

Please make your voice heard — get out and vote today!

Reminder: Election Day is right around the corner—Tuesday, November 4—and with it, your opportunity to vote on the proposed millage. If passed, this millage will provide increased funding for our nine approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and it will also open the door to additional revenue as we look to expand and introduce new programs in the future.

Currently, our Region shares approximately $1.2 million annually among all 10 schools. If the millage is approved, that funding would increase to over $4 million per year—a significant investment in the future of our students and community.

To learn more:

Watch the attached CTE overview video created by COPESD.

Listen to Mike Grisdale's interview with Jamie Huber, Regional Superintendent.

Visit our COPESD website: https://www.cteforcop.org/

As we gear up for the final push, we also have YARD SIGNS available. BP’s will be placing them at each school building today. If you'd like one for your yard, please let us know—we have over 100 signs ready to go! Just check with your BP first, and if more are needed, contact Cris at the DO, and we’ll make sure to get more signs out to you asap.

Thank you for your leadership and continued support of our CTE programs!
