East Elementary Construction Update
The East Elementary addition continues to make great progress! With the steel now standing, you can really begin to see the height and footprint of the new addition, and it is exciting to watch the project take shape.
This Week:
• Steel erection and decking installation continued, with the first third-party steel inspection completed on September 23.
• FOCO continued installing plywood and vapor barrier on the North Wing, with metal panel installation expected to begin September 29.
• Exterior brick demolition was completed in preparation for the new concrete slab.
• Underground storm drainage work has been completed and compacted with stone.
• The new parking lot pad has been excavated and compacted with stone. Paving and exterior sidewalks will be completed in the spring.
Looking Ahead:
• Final steel erection – September 26
• Slab preparation – September 28
• Metal panel installation – September 29
• Concrete slab pour – October 2
• Roofing on the addition begins – October 5
• South Wing roof fascia installation – October 12
The next few weeks will bring several exciting milestones as we work toward getting the addition enclosed. The concrete slab will be poured next week, with roofing to follow in early October.
We appreciate the continued hard work of our construction team and look forward to seeing this addition continue to take shape!
