The East Elementary renovation continues to make good progress as we move toward the final stages of the project.

Painters continue working in the gym and hallways, mechanical room work is ongoing, and plumbers have started underground work for the addition. Metal paneling is complete on the west side of the building, with crews now working on the south end. Commercial cleaners continue cleaning classrooms and other areas of the building.

A major milestone: We received Temporary Occupancy approval, allowing teachers to return to the building Monday and begin putting their classrooms back together.

Next Week:

Johnson & Wood: AHU mechanical duct installation is approximately 90% complete, complete classroom ceiling grilles, and the plumbing final inspection – Passed 8/21!

E&L: Continue installing metal paneling, painters continue work in the gym and classrooms, caulk all bathroom accessories, remove concrete demolition material from both the north and south parking lots.

Shoreline Power Services: Install door magnetic holds, restore power to existing classrooms, Electrical final inspection – 9/2!

In addition to the work above, crews will be completing the final cleaning of the building, consolidating the construction yard, and completing the remaining inspections and testing.

• September 3: Final building inspection and Fire Marshal inspection

We are getting very close to the finish line! We appreciate the patience and flexibility of our staff, students, and families as we complete this important project at East Elementary.
