East Elementary Construction Update

Work at East Elementary continues to move forward, with several major components now complete. The new roof and LVT flooring in the classrooms are 100% complete, and the electrical, mechanical, and building overhead inspections have all passed. Both new air handling units have been installed in the mezzanine mechanical room, and crews are continuing to install doors, marker boards, ceiling tiles, fire protection devices, and other finishing items throughout the building.

Painters are completing the classrooms and moving north through the building, while the first commercial cleaning crew has also begun work. Interior pier rebar inspections passed, and the interior piers are now being poured.

Looking Ahead

Next week, crews will begin moving teachers' furniture back into classrooms on August 17. The boiler room startup is scheduled for August 18, and additional HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and finish work will continue. Carpet installation is also scheduled to begin August 18.

The remaining major work includes completing ceilings, painting the hallways and gym, installing the new metal panels as materials arrive, and completing fire protection and electrical work. Final inspections are scheduled for the last week of August, with the electrical final currently scheduled for August 27. Steel erection is expected to begin the week of August 24.
