FYI - At approximately 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, Bus 19A was preparing to drop off its final student of the route on N. Straits Highway when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. At the time of the accident, only one student remained on the bus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and everyone involved was safely assessed at the scene.
We would like to thank the Cheboygan Area Schools bus driver for his professionalism, quick response, and continued dedication to student safety. Because of his careful attention and commitment to ensuring students remain properly seated during transport, the situation was handled safely.
We also want to express our appreciation for the efforts of our transportation staff, who work every day to safely transport our students to and from school.
